47 postal ballot papers used in Kanpur Nagar, Akbarpur

Kanpur: As many as as 47 postal ballot papers were used in Kanpur Nagar and Akbarpur parliamentary constituencies by the voters involved in the polling process on Tuesday. The polling process, which began on Tuesday, will continue till April 25.
It may be mentioned that government employees, engaged in the polling process, who cannot cast their votes on the polling day, use postal ballots to exercise their right to franchise.
According to the data released by the district election officer, Kanpur Nagar, a total 26 persons used the postal ballot for casting their votes. The highest number of postal ballots were used in Govind Nagar assembly constituency while six persons used postal ballots in Sisamau constituency, four in Arya Nagar and three each in Kidwai Nagar and Cantonment assembly constituencies.
Similarly, 21 employees, engaged in the election process, used postal postal ballots--eight in Kalyanpur, six in Maharajpur, five in Ghatampur and two in Bithoor.
Meanwhile, district election officer Vijay Vishwas Pant on Tuesday inspected the information technology department at Government Polytechnic and asked the persons deputed there to cast their vote through postal ballot between 10 am and 5 pm on April 17, April 24 and April 25. They can also cast their votes through postal ballot between April 18 and April 23 from 9 am to 6 pm.
