Upset over BJP’s decision to pick state general secretary VD Sharma as the candidate from Khajuraho constituency, the party leaders have come out in open protesting his candidature. The supporters of former MLA Vijay Bahadur Bundela on Monday burnt Sharma’s effigies during protest. Bundela was also one of the contenders from Khajuraho seat. Other ticket seekers namely Lalita Yadav, Sanjay Nagaich, Kusum Mehadale along with other party leaders are also peeved over candidature of Sharma as he is considered an outsider. RSS leaders though have come out in Sharma’s support and are placating the angry BJP leaders.

The leaders of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have also started making conducive atmosphere for Sharma. RSS workers have started working in the constituencies where the party candidate is facing opposition. They would also talk to those leaders who are discontented from the party candidate. The impact of the opposition of BJP leaders would also be reduced by launching ‘Jan-Jagran’ campaign.
