Janata Dal (S) has announced that the former Minister Ananda Asnotika will fight from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha seat. JD (S) and the Congress party have entered into a pre-poll alliance in Karnataka. As per the pact signed up between the two parties, Congress will leave 7 out of the 28 constituencies in the state for JD (S) candidates. Uttara Kannada has been allotted for the JD (S) candidate as per the pact. Ashnotikar will lock horns with Anantkumar Hegde fielded by BJP. Notably, Anantkumar Hegde has won from this constituency continuously over the past five terms and is now the sitting MP for the party.
