There are general voters and then there are ‘service voters’. What makes them unique is the process of them casting their votes. Service voter is a voter with ‘service qualification’– our soldiers. This applies to those serving in the Armed Forces and in a force to which the Army Act 1950 applies (Assam Rifles, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, NSG, GREF in BRO, CISF etc.). Those employed under the Government of India, in a post outside India. Member of an Armed Police Force of a State, serving outside that state.
