Ludhiana: Residents and commuters using the roads in New Model Town have been demanding an immediate makeover of the roads there.
Nippy Alag, a businessman in New Model Town, said, “The condition of the roads here contradict the name of this place. The roads are barely motorable. Authorities are not paying any attention to the potholes in the roads. I thought with elections here, authorities would spring to action and look after the civic issues faced by the residents, but nothing has been done. I hope the roads are repaired at the earliest, not only in this area, but in the entire city.”
Gursahib Singh, who works in Kochar Market, said, “I travel most of the time from these areas as I need to go near Jawahar Nagar camp. Due to the potholes in the roads, commuters using these roads are bound to undergo the worst experience. There should be a mobile application using which one can upload pictures and also mention areas so that the municipal corporation can get to know about the problems and solve it as soon as possible.”
