The results for this Lok Sabha will make you wait more by 4 hours and 10 minutes. The reason for delay is the new order by the Election Commission of India after which voter slips from 5 VVPAT machines will be counted from each assembly constituencies.
Chief Electoral Officer, VL Kantha Rao said that this new order is to ensure free and fair elections for Lok Sabha. Counting of slips will be done one by one of each VVPAT machine and not simultaneously. The machines will be selected randomly. Another new instruction from the ECI says that batteries should be taken out from the VVPATs machines before sealing them for later stage.

Rao said notification for 8 constituencies to be held in the third phase in MP will be issued on Tuesday. These constituencies include Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh. Last date for filing nomination will be April 23 while polling will be held on May 12.
Commissioning of EVMs will start for second phase of polling for 6 seats from Tuesday. Appropriate arrangements have been made for the first phase polls in state and process for postal ballots have started. In first phase, Sidhi, Jabalpur and Balaghat constituencies will have two ballot units as more than 16 candidates are contesting from these places.
CEO informed that a workshop was conducted on Monday to train stakeholders about GPS fitted vehicles. More than 20,000 vehicles fitted with GPS will be used this election to ferry EVMs etc. Ban on exit polls have been implemented from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission of India has issued instructions to jail authorities to not provide parole to prisoners during this period- especially to drug offenders. In case of emergency for a parole, permission of CEO will be mandatory.
