CHENNAI: More than eight lakh candidates in Tamil Nadu who wrote Class XII state board exams in March would know their results on Friday, as scheduled.
"The candidates will receive the results through SMS and school-wise results would be sent to the respective schools online," director of government examinations D Vasundradevi told TOI.
The schedule of exams and declaration of results were announced at the start of the 2018-19academic year. Teachers complained that they could not go to the schools in the morning after poll duty in the previous day.
Minority institutions have been petitioning the school education department and directorate of government examinations to postpone the results declaration as it falls on Good Friday.
However, the school education department decided to go ahead and release the results on April 19.
