President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu have greeted the people on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti.In a message, the President said that Lord Mahavira’s message of peace and non-violence has enriched our cultural heritage.

He said, on this auspicious day, the people should resolve to ceaselessly strive for harmony in our country and across the world.

In his message, the Vice President said, that Bhagwan Mahavir’s messages of non-violence, truth and universal compassion illuminated a path of righteousness and honesty.

He said, his teachings are universal and therefore relevant to the entire world.
