NEW DELHI: Affidavits of poll candidates often reveal, among other things, their passions other than politics. Dushyant Singh, son of former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and the BJP candidate for the Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha seat, for instance, seems to have a passion for vintage cars.
He has five vintage Rolls-Royce cars in his possession that he has shown as part of his assets, each carrying a value of Rs 3 lakh. The registration numbers of these cars are in the same series in an increasing order. The first one, a 1923 make, carries the registration RJ-11-C 1225. The second, a 1920 make, has its number as RJ-11-C-1226 and so on.
The remaining three cars are of 1921, 1928 and 1934 vintage. Singh also owns two Mercedes vehicles, of 2014 and 2017 make. There is also Riju Jhunjhunwala, businessman and Congress candidate form Ajmer, who owns paintings and artefacts worth about Rs 16 lakh, his affidavit states. The Congress candidate from Kota, Ram Narain Meena, has a collection of books valued at Rs 25,500 and is the only one in the poll fray who has declared books as part of his assets
