Though BJP and Congress have failed to select candidates for prestigious Indore parliamentary seat, the filing of nomination papers for eight parliamentary seats including Indore will begin from April 22. Polling will be held on eight seats on May 19. The Election Commission will issue the notification for starting the election process for seventh and last phase of polling schedule on April 22. The election will be conducted on eight parliamentary seats of Malwa and Nimar region under this phase.

The seats are Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Khargone and Khandwa. As per ECI schedule, the filing of nomination papers will begin from April 22, which will continue till April 29 except government holidays between 11 am to 3 pm. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on April 30 while candidates can withdraw nomination on May 2. The election symbols will be allocated to candidates on the same day by evening. Once the position of candidates will be clear by May 2, the postal ballot will be emailed to service voters (armed forces personnel) through Electronically Transferred Postal Ballets System to their unit head on May 3.
Voting will held on May 19. 5 persons can enter returning officer’s room As per Election Commission’s directions, only five people including candidate can enter the room of returning officer for filing nomination. While filling the nomination, only three vehicles will be allowed to enter within 100-meter periphery of returning officer’s office. The counting of votes will be done on May 23 at Nehru Stadium in the city.
