SpiceJet soars on Bombardier fleet expansion

Shares of low-cost carrier SpiceJet Ltd surged as much as 8.09 per cent to their highest since May 2018.

SpiceJet said to expand its Bombardier fleet by inducting five more Q400s. The airline to add three Q400s in the next ten days.

Over 1.1 million shares change hands, compared with 30-day average of 2.9 million shares. Seven of eight brokerages covering the stock rate it “buy” or higher, one “hold”; median PT Rs 106 rupees, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

The stock was up 33.8 per cent this year as of Monday's close. It was trading at Rs 128.20, higher by 7.42 per cent as of 9.35 am.
