Ambala: Four booked for snatching cash from truck driver

AMBALA: The police have booked four persons for snatching cash from a truck driver.


On the complaint of Rakesh Saini, a resident of Shanti Bhawan, Saharanpur, the police have registered a case against the four accused, identified as Jaidev and Johny of Thamber village; Gurwinder of Mullana village and Madan of Saha, under Section 379-B (snatching) of the Indian Penal Code at the Mullana police station.


Rakesh stated in his complaint that on Sunday, he along with his family was going towards Mukerian, Punjab, in his truck to attend a wedding. At around 1am when they reached near Kalpi bridge, a black car came from behind and parked in front Rakesh's truck. Three youths alight from the car and one of them came towards the driver's side, while two went towards the conductor's side. The youths snatched Rs 12,000 from his brother's pocket and fled. "However, with the help of passersby, we managed to catch two of the accused, while two others escapes," said Rakesh.
