Holds on to pillion rider until he throws her mobile phone

A 22-year-old woman foiled a robbery by chasing bikers and holding on to the pillion rider until he threw back her mobile phone, which he had snatched, on the busy Siddaiah Road on Saturday evening.

The woman lost her balance during the incident and fell on the road. She sustained minor injuries, but managed to get her phone back.

The incident occurred around 7.30 p.m. when Arushi Sharma, an employee with a private firm, was walking towards her paying guest accommodation after work.

She was holding her phone and walking towards her PG when two men on a bike came near her. The pillion rider snatched her phone and the two fled.

Arushi ran behind the bikers and managed to catch the pillion rider. Sensing trouble, the pillion rider pushed her away, threw the phone and escaped.

Arushi returned to her PG, got first aid for her injuries, and later filed a complaint with the Wilson Garden police on Sunday.

The police have taken up a case of attempt to robbery and efforts are on to track down the accused.
