Salah's best goals

And there have been plenty to choose from!

'Secret message' of Salah's yoga celebration?

Just what did Mohamed Salah mean with his yoga goal celebration against Chelsea?

Emma Stubbs, who runs Stubbs Yoga, has offered a potential explanation.

She said:

“Tree pose is about balance, so he could have been showing off how good his balance is.

“However it is also about grounding, about someone sending their roots into the earth and making a connection.

“So that means Mo Salah was showing his commitment to Anfield and Liverpool by standing in a tree pose and connecting to the place and the club.”

Duncan has the last word on Chelsea

Five years on ago a Steven Gerrard slip against Chelsea cost Liverpool dearly in their title battle against Manchester City so with the Londoners returning to Anfield at the weekend they were keen to revive memories of the day.

However, Reds youngster Bobby Duncan who is the legendary midfielder’s cousin, had the perfect response to the visitors’ jibes.

Klopp on keeping title focus

Kop Idol claims he's never heard noise like the Anfield crowd yesterday

As a bona fide Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness has experienced many great days and nights at Anfield but the former Reds midfielder and manager boldly declared that he’d never heard noise like the crowd reaction to yesterday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.

He told Sky Sports Premier League:

“Yes [ I can’t remember hearing a noise like it].

“When the second goal goes in, okay they are celebrating that second goal, but the feeling within the stadium, I can’t remember when I was playing here [anything like it]. Maybe I’m doing a disservice to those supporters all those years ago... but the stadium is absolutely rocking.”

The Verdict

Writing in his Verdict from Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Chelsea, the ECHO’s LFC correspondent James Pearce says the result sends a message to title rivals Manchester City.

There has been so much to admire about this Liverpool team over the course of a season like no other.

Time and time again when serious questions have been asked they have come up with the answers.

There have been so many remarkable triumphs, so many performances to cherish, but this one truly belongs in a class of its own.

It’s been a long time since Anfield was rocked to its foundations quite like this. The sense of euphoria and pride was almost palpable.

Sheer bloody mindedness kept Jurgen Klopp’s side in the title race in recent weeks as they dug deep and found a way to win when not at their best.

But on this occasion it was simply awe-inspiring brilliance which got the job done.

Pressure? What pressure? Knocked off the summit by Manchester City’s win at Selhurst Park earlier in the day, Liverpool responded with the perfect show of force to brush Chelsea aside and regain top spot.

Unity really is strength at Anfield and the double-chasing Reds are powering towards the finish line in some shape.

Good morning

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s Liverpool Live Blog.

Jurgen Klopp’s side took a huge step towards potentially winning a first Premier League crown yesterday with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea so we’ll be reflecting on that.

Also, today, April 15, is of course a very poignant one for all Reds fans and indeed all the people of Merseyside, and particularly so this year on the 30th Anniversary of Hillsborough.
