6 killed in separate accidents in Patiala

PATIALA: As many as six persons died in separate road accidents in the last two days.
Three members of a family died in an accident on Saturday evening. Around five persons were left injured in the accidents.
Three members of a family, including two kids, were killed, while two were seriously injured in a road accident in Shambhu block of the district, following which a case was registered.
The police said five members of a family were standing on a roadside, near Shambhu Khurd village, when a speeding vehicle rammed into them at 9.30pm. Three persons died on the spot, while two were seriously injured and rushed to a nearest hospital by the passersby.
A case has been registered on the complainant of Mohammed Danish, who told the police that a silver Innova car hit his family members and fled from the spot.
Investigation officer Gurjant Singh said the injured were referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.
In another case, a person died in a road accident near the Chamaru village. The police also booked some unidentified persons for rash driving which killed a man after the vehicle rammed into him.
An unidentified truck driver has also been booked for hitting a bike from the rear, which killed a woman on the spot.
