A convenience store worker who bravely defended his parents' business has been rushed to hospital with a badly broken arm after a violent robbery on Saturday night.
Shocking video footage shows the violence of the attack on the family-run store in the northeastern Brisbane suburb of Margate on Saturday night.
The attacker casually entered the Oxley Avenue store just after 8.30pm armed with a tyre iron and demanded the 28-year-old shop attendant open the till.
The worker immediately fought back, defending his family's business with a baseball bat.
As the young man delivered blow after blow to the violent offender, his attacker - seemingly unaffected - beat him back, hitting him around the arm, shoulders and head with the metal tyre iron.
As the shop attendant held out his arm to fend off the attacker, the offender hit him with the metal weapon, badly breaking his bones.

As the young man tried to defend himself, the attacker caught him around the throat, cutting off his air supply until he began to lose consciousness.
The attacker - who was wearing a white shirt with a dark hood, sunglasses and dark sleeves covering his arms - then forced the shop attendant to open the till.
The young man had been speaking to a friend on his mobile phone when the attack began.

His friend, who heard the attack unfold, called the police, but they arrived too late to arrest the offender who had ran off with money from the till.
The shop attendant was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to injuries to his head and face, as well as a broken arm, Queensland police said in a media release.
The unidentified young man reportedly told 9 News that he wants the attacker caught and brought to justice.
Queensland police want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area on Saturday night, particularly anyone who may know of a man with unexplained injuries to his face or head.
