Dumka: Outgoing Godda MP, BJP’s Nishikant Dubey, announced on Monday that he will file his nomination for the seat on April 26. On the other hand, mahagathbandhan’s candidate for Godda, JVM-P’s Pradeep Yadav, will do so on April 29. But both BJP and JMM are yet to announce the dates when their respective candidates will file nominations for the remaining two seats in Santhal Pargana. BJP and JMM are the principal contenders in the other two seats of Santhal Pargana — Dumka and Rajmahal.
Dubey, who is eyeing a third straight term from Godda, has been campaigning extensively ever since his name was announced by the party. “Chief minister Raghubar Das and other top leaders will accompany me during the nomination,” Dubey said.
BJP insiders said party cadres from neighbouring Bihar, particularly from Bhagalpur, which is Dubey’s native place, and Banka, are also expected to campaign for him after April 18.
JVM-P chief Babulal Marandi, along with top leaders of Congress and JMM, will be present during Yadav’s nomination on April 29, Pintu Agrawal, central committee member of JVM-P, said.
