Garhwa: Amid apprehensions that the rift between Congress and RJD over the Chatra Lok Sabha seat will have an adverse impact on mahagatbandhan candidate Ghuran Ram’s poll prospects in Palamu, leaders of the opposition alliance put up a show of strength on Monday and pledged to work together to defeat BJP.
Addressing a press conference in Garhwa after a meeting, district presidents of RJD, Congress, JVM-P and JMM, said that they will be working for victory of the grand alliance candidate Ghuran Ram in Palamu.
The district Congress president, Arvind Toofani, reiterated: “We have pledged to ensure the victory Ghuran Ram in Palamu.”
RJD district president Zamiruddin Ansari, who presided in the alliance meeting, said they have formed a 51-member committee for smooth coordination during campaigning in Palamu. “Members of the committee will visit blocks and villages to mobilise people and strengthen the mahagathbandan setting aside their differences,” Ansari said.
