Niasse offers update on Blues future

Oumar Niasse has revealed he is still unsure of where his future lies as the Everton man continues his loan spell at Cardiff City.

The striker - who is yet to score in 10 outings for the Bluebirds - said:

“But my future we’re going to decide at the end of the season.

“The end of the season is just six games to go and at the end of the season I’m going to have one year left with Everton.

“I will see openly what exactly the football club is going to give to me.

“Like I’ve been doing all my career, I’m going to fight for Cardiff and then I’ll see what’s going to happen.”

Merson angers Blues - AGAIN!

Paul Merson seems to have something of a knack when it comes to rubbing Evertonians up the wrong way.

Last summer the former England international claimed that the Blues had ruined the transfer window with their purchase of Richarlison and now he’s up to his old tricks again.

Speaking on Soccer Saturday, the Arsenal old boy declared of Andre Gomes:

“I like him. There is talk of Tottenham coming in for him for £30 million. Again, this is what happens, you have a couple of good games and other teams look at the loan situation and think ‘Oh, he’s only on loan, I’ll take him’. He’s a Tottenham player... He’s a Tottenham player!”

Jeff Stelling responds to Merson by insisting: “Evertonians will tell you, he’s an Everton player!”.

Merson then counters:

“And rightly so.

“He’s there now and if he keeps on getting the confidence, but he does get brought off now and again when he isn’t playing too well. He’s not one of them players who you field the team around. You don’t feel that he’s the star man.”

Wright shocked by Gomes tackle

Former Premier League striker Ian Wright admits he was shocked by Everton midfielder Andre Gomes’ tackle on Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic on Saturday which he thought might have merited a red card.

Speaking on the BBC, he said:

“I can’t understand it. I’ve never seen him do that since he’s been here. He’s been a terrific player. But they’ll probably look at that and he might get in trouble for it.”

Incredible story of former Blues player and a Saudi prince

There’s quite a remarkable story about former Everton player Eamonn O’Keefe - who still works part-time for the Blues - from the BBC about his bizarre stint in Saudi Arabia that almost cost him the chance of ever coming to Goodison Park or playing international football.

Silva's brief verdict on Cottage capitulation

Unseen Silva reaction proves his emotional connection to Blues

Adam Jones has noticed a change in Marco Silva’s body language and despite a wretched result he believes that it could be good news for Evertonians.

He writes:

The manager was positively beaming when walking through the corridors of Goodison Park after the (Arsenal) match, stopping for handshakes in the media mixed zone and clearly delighted to have seen his side dominate proceedings so easily.

The boss was only too happy to speak about his side in glowing terms and looked emotionally invested in seeing his project produce a performance of such quality so soon.

Fast-forward those six days, and it was a different story.

The mood around Craven Cottage was massively contrasting from an Everton perspective at least.

Gone were the smiling faces in royal blue, the high fives in the tunnel, the handshakes through the mixed zone.

In their place were stony faced players and a manager who knows his side can’t be putting in performances like the one they just did.

Silva’s demeanour had subtly changed. His post-match press conference lasted just over two minutes, with the boss making clear he wasn’t happy at all with his players.

Reported Blues target speaks on his future

With 21 goals for Championship side Hull City this season, hot shot Jarrod Bowen has attracted attention from potential Premier League suitors, with Everton believed to be among the chasing pack.

However, the 22-year-old has declared that he wants to play top flight football - with his current club.

Bowen told the Hull Daily Mail:

“It’s inevitable (for speculation to come) when you do well and establish yourself.

“I’ve shown loyalty to Hull because that’s my club. There’s going to be interest no matter what happens but I don’t take too much interest in that.

“I’ve got agents who are in the know and only if a bid comes in and gets accepted is it time to think about it. Right now I’m knuckling down and looking to get into the Premier League with the club I’m at.

“It’s everyone’s dream growing up. I had a little sniff when we were there but I was only young then. I hadn’t established myself.

“It’s still achievable here and that’s still the target. The play-offs are anyone’s if we get there.”

Good morning

Hello and welcome to today’s Everton Live Blog.

After three encouraging victories - including a couple against members of the ‘big six’ and a hat-trick of clean sheets, Marco Silva’s side were of course brought back down to earth with a major bump with their limp defeat against an already-relegated Fulham side.

There’s plenty to discuss though and we’ll bring you all the latest news and views on the Blues right here throughout the day.
