The Cabinet which was chaired by Prime Minister Modi was also apprised about an MoU signed in May 2018 with Brazil to collaborate on innovation in science and technology besides biotechnology education, training and research. The Cabinet was apprised about an MoU under which the Department of Posts will issue postage stamps on Queen Hur Hwang-ok of South Korea by 2019-end.

An agreement was signed in March 2019 between India and Denmark for cooperation in the field of renewable energy with focus on offshore wind energy
“The Union Cabinet, has given its approval for a cooperation agreement between Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India and Ministry for Energy, Utilities and Climate of the Kingdom of Denmark on strategic sector cooperation in the field of renewable energy with a focus on offshore wind energy and a letter of intent to establish an Indo-Danish Centre of Excellence for renewable energy in India,” the statement said.
The areas of cooperation would include technical capacity building for management of offshore wind projects, measures to develop and sustain a highly efficient wind industry — onshore as well as offshore, measures to ensure high quality of wind turbines, components and certification requirements, forecasting and scheduling of offshore wind, it said.
CCEA extends duration of new urea policy
The government has decided to extend the duration of the New Urea Policy from April 1 this year till further orders to ensure smooth supply of nutrients to farmers.
“Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, has approved the proposal of the Department of fertilisers to extend the duration of New Urea Policy-2015 from April 1, 2019 till further orders, except for the provisions which stand already amended vide notification dated March 28, 2018,” an official statement said.
The energy norms of urea plants were revised in March last year. The extension of the policy would facilitate in continuation of operations of urea plants and ensure regular supply of urea to the farmers.
Five GSLV flights during 2021-24
The cabinet approved the ongoing GSLV continuation programme phase 4 consisting of five GSLV flights during 2021-24.
This will enable the launch of 2-tonne class of satellites for geo-imaging, navigation, data relay communication and space sciences, according to an official statement.
The fund requirement is Rs 2,729 crore and includes the cost of five GSLV vehicles, essential facility augmentation, programme management and launch campaign along with additional funds required for meeting the scope of ongoing GSLV continuation programme.
