Valtteri Bottas blamed the painted start/finish line for causing the wheelspin that cost him a shot of victory in the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday.
Lewis Hamilton won the race, with team mate Bottas in second, completing their third straight 1-2 for the season.
Bottas and Hamilton had vied for domination all weekend during practice sessions, but Hamilton had the better start when the lights went out in Shanghai, and he never looked back, taking a 6-second lead when former F1 world-champion Alain Prost waved the checquered flag.
