DGP holds poll review meet

Coimbatore: Director general of police Ashutosh Shukla conducted a review meeting with department officers on election preparedness on Monday.
The DGP reviewed law and order plan during pre-poll, poll and post-poll period, supplementary activities and enforcement of model code of conduct.
As many as 483 flying squads and 232 static surveillance teams have been formed to monitor and enforce the model code of conduct in western Tamil Nadu. Since the notification, 918 cases were booked for violation. Commissioners of police Sumit Sharan (Coimbatore city), Sanjeev Kumar (Tirpur city), K Shankar (Salem city), inspector general of police (west zone) K Periaiah, deputy inspectors general of police (DIGS) Karthikeyan (Coimbatore range), T Senthilkumar (Salem range) and Sujit Kumar attended the meeting.
