NEW DELHI: The Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), Karnataka, released the Pre-University exams result (2nd PUC Results) on Monday, April 15, 2019. 61.73 per cent students have been declared successful.

The DPUE director C Shikha declared the result after 11:00 am at a press conference at its office premises. The second PUC (Class 12th) result is now available for the students on its official website. The students who appeared for the 2nd PUC exam can visit the official website to check and download their results.

The colleges in the state will publish the results on April 16. The students can collect their marksheet from their respective colleges.

Last year, the Karnataka DPUE had declared the 2nd PUC result on April 30, 2018.

Karnataka 2nd PUC result 2019: Where to check

Students can check their results from the official websites - pue.kar.nic.in and karresults.nic.in by entering their basic credentials asked there on the result page. The students will have to enter their roll number ti check and download their result.

This may be noted that for the first time the 2nd PUC results was declared before the completion of the Common entrance Test (CET) as the CET 2019 would be conducted on April 29, 30 and May 1, 2019. It may reduce the number of students appearing for the CET examination as the students scoring less marks might not appear for the examination.

The second PU examinations were held from March 1, 2019 to March 18, 2019 in which around 6.6 lakh students participated. Around eight lakh students appeared for the SSLC examination this year.

Karnataka 2nd PUC result 2019: Passing criteria

In order to pass the examination, the students would need minimum 35 per cent (aggregate).

This year, due to the shortage of the attendance (less than 75 per cent), around 2500 students were not allowed to sit for the examination.

After Class X every year about 10 lakhs students enroll in the 2 year Pre-university courses. The courses offered by the Department are broadly classified under the categories of Humanities (Arts), Science & Commerce. There are 23 subjects, 11 languages and 50 combinations in the Pre-University curriculum.

Also, to improve the standard of the education in Karnataka and to bring it at par with the national standard of the examination, the DPUE had introduced the NCERT syllabus in its many courses like economics, business studies and accounts for the class 12 students.

Steps to check the second PUC result 2019

1) Log on to the official websites - karresults.nic.in or kseeb.kar.nic.in

2) Click on 'Karnataka PUC Result 2019' on the home page

3) Enter your credentials, such as your registration number, and then click on the 'Submit' button

4) Your results will appear on the page that opens


5) Download soft copy / PDF or take a printout of the scorecard
