Aidy Bryant's Annie is about to have another reason to dance.
Shrill has been renewed for a second season at Hulu, per The Hollywood Reporter. And in even better news, Season 2 will reportedly be longer than the first, clocking in at eight episodes instead of the inaugural six. The sitcom will return with new episodes in 2020.
Shrill stars Bryant as Annie, a soft-spoken journalist whose journey toward self-improvement and self-acceptance isn't focused on her body. Adapted from writer Lindy West's 2016 memoir Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman, the sitcom follows the highs and lows of Annie's writing career and dating life as she learns to speak up for herself to her dismissive boss (John Cameron Mitchell) and immature boyfriend (Luka Jones), with the encouragement of roommate Fran (Lolly Adefope). Ian Owens also stars.
Shrill Season 2 will premiere in 2020. Season 1 is available for streaming on Hulu.
