The Telangana High Court on Monday sought to know on what ground was the disqualification of Bharatiya Janata Party nominee from Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat G. Kishen Reddy was sought by Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav who contested from the same constituency on Telangana Rashtra Samithi ticket.

Hearing a writ petition filed by Mr. Yadav seeking to disqualify Mr. Reddy for allegedly using money to attract voters, a Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Justice A. Rajasheker Reddy said such plea cannot be accepted without incriminating evidence. The Bench also asked how can the petition pray for disqualification of the BJP as he stated so in the petition.

When Mr. Yadav’s lawyer contended that he wanted response of the Election Commission of India on his client’s representations over the alleged wrong methods used by Mr. Reddy to lure voters. ECI counsel Avinash Desai said he would secure instructions from the authorities on the matter. The petition was posted to Thursday for next hearing.
