Shot security guard remains critical

A 28-year-old security guard is still fighting for life after the drive-by shooting outside a Prahran nightclub shortly after 3am on Sunday.

His condition has not changed from critical, reporter Zach Hope says.

Security guard Aaron Khalid Osmani, 37, was killed outside the Love Machine.

Another bouncer was injured and a male patron were also injured when about half a dozen shots were fired from a stolen Porsche Cayenne.

Monash Freeway

One citybound lane on the Monash Freeway is still closed this morning near the Princes Highway after a two-car crash.

VicRoads has urged commuters to allow extra time and consider using the Princes Highway as an alternative.

Another fatal car crash

There was another fatal car crash yesterday afternoon in Jarklin, central Victoria.

A Holden sedan is believed to have veered onto the wrong side of the Loddon Valley Highway just after 1pm, smashing into a Holden station wagon travelling in the other direction. The woman driving the sedan died at the scene, while the man driving the station wagon was treated for minor injuries.

It's been a horror few weeks on the roads. So far this year 93 people have died in car crashes in Victoria, compared to 58 at the same time last year.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

Enrol to vote

The deadline to enrol to vote or change your address is 8pm this Thursday ahead of the May 18 federal election.

And yes, voting is compulsory!

If you don't, the Australian Electoral Commission will send you a 'please explain' letter and you face a $20 fine.

High Street closure

Two southbound lanes are closed on High Street, Reservoir, until Monday April 29 as part of the level crossing removal works.
