Social media trolling stalls Raja Singh’s song release?

Telangana’s lone BJP legislator Raja Singh, known for his fiery speeches and minority bashing, stumbled before he could make his debut as a singer. Two days after promising to release his maiden song on Ram Navami and dedicated to the Indian Army, the MLA didn’t fulfil it.

This after the social media ripped apart the budding singer’s hopes by identifying the 1.5-minute clip as a copy of a song released by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department.

While many viewers commented on the use of Urdu words initially, people from Pakistan identified it as a copy of Pakistan Zindabad anthem released by the ISPR. The slickly-produced video of Pakistan Zindabad sung by Sahir Ali Bagga was released on March 23 this year to mark Pakistan Day.

The words of both the songs are the same: Dil Ki Himmat Watan, Apna Jazba Watan. While the ISPR’s song had Pakistan Zindabad, Raja Singh’s song had Hindustan Zindabad.

However, Mr. Singh denied the allegation, stating, “I am surprised that the terrorist nation produces singers too. Pakistani singers might have copied my songs. I don’t need to copy songs or lyrics from Pakistanis. Baap bete se nahin seekhta hai (Father doesn’t learn from son). It is good to see that the Pakistani media is covering my ‘Hindustan zindabad’ song.”
