Ludhiana: Ludhiana will be made to top the charts in every aspect in the coming five years. Making an appeal to voters of Ludhiana parliamentary constituency, Ravneet Singh Bittu asked them to make efforts for Congress victory.
Opening his election office here at Malhar Road, Bittu said he would make the city number one in every way, as special initiatives will be taken to ease traffic congestion, industries will be provided special incentives, and pollution will be tackled effectively. “I want to see the city top at the all-India level in every chart. I appeal to the voters to give me one more chance to serve you, and strengthen the hands of Congress president Rahul Gandhi,” he said.
Commenting on the ‘wrong’ policies of the BJP-led Modi government at the centre, Bittu said demonetisation and GST had ruined the middle and small-scale business. “Ludhiana is the worst affected by these anti-people steps taken by the BJP government. Now, the people will also ask Modi what he had done for the industry. A few big industrialists were being favoured by Modi, while all the rest were on ventilators. We should bring the Congress government at the Centre this time, and make our industry flourish,” he added.
Taking potshots at SAD-BJP in Punjab, Bittu said: “Jinke khud ke ghar sheeshe ke hon unhe doosron par pathar nahin marne chahiyen (those living in glass houses should not throw stones at others). SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal should look at his party first before commenting negatively about others. He should first set his house in order.”
