MIRZAPUR: Jai Praksh Bind, a Class 12 student from UP's Mirzapur, has developed a cycle waste collection machine for sanitary workers.


Jai, son of an electrician, bought an old bicycle from his pocket money and developed the unique machine at his uncle's welding shop within seven months. The Uttar Pradesh Science and Technology Council admired his work and directed mechanical engineering department of IIT BHU to evaluate the machine. The council also felicitated Jai Prakash for his invention during Sir JC Bose exhibition. it is now helping him to patent his waste collection machine.


Talking about the machine, Jai said that the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" was the inspiration behind his idea of developing a machine for the sanitary workers.


District coordinator of Mirzapur Science Club Sushil Pandey said, "BHU scientists are working on Jai Prakash's invention. After some modifications it could be used for garbage collection from city streets." The machine can collect the waste in less time as compared to the other methods.
