Centenary Marathon pulls 110 air warriors onto running track

Nagpur The hot Sunday morning failed to deter the brave air warriors of Head Quarters Maintenance Command (HQMC), Indian Air Force, at Nagpur who enthusiastically took part in the half marathon which was conducted to mark the birth centenary of late marshal of Indian Air Force Arjan Singh DFC.
Aim of the event was to propagate the accomplishments and value system that of the legendary IAF marshal stood for among air force personnel posted at maintenance command and inculcate camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants. A total of 110 participants turned up at the HQMC parade ground early in the morning to take part in the Centenary Marathon.
The route of the half marathon was through some of the most scenic and most historic areas of the Nagpur. The runners and the walkers took part in the event distances of 6 kms, 12 kms, and 21 kms which was open only for air warriors in two categories- below 35 years and above 35 years.
Corporal Dhiraj Kumar Mishra was the youngest and Air Vice Marshal GS Sandhu was the seniormost participant in the half-marathon. The Centenary Marathon was flagged off by Air Marshal M Baladitya, senior maintenance staff officer.
