General Elections 2019

Bheemunipatnam TDP MLA candidate Sabbam Hari expressed hope that Telugu Desam Party would win the 2019 Assembly Election and party president N. Chandrababu Naidu would form the government.

TDP might lose a few sitting seats but will also gain a few to balance the loss, he said, while addressing the media here on Saturday.

According to him, 2019 will be a repeat of 2014, when it comes to seat share in the State, and expressed confidence that he was all set to win in Bheemunipatnam.

According to him in all the constituencies in the district, the voting pattern has been very distinct.

“A majority of the women and senior citizens have overwhelmingly voted for the TDP, but the votes between 18 to 50 years have been split between YSR Congress Party and Jana Sena Party. The women and senior citizens, will give TDP the edge,” he said.

He was however upset the way the EVMs had malfunctioned on the polling day, across the State.

Venting his ire on YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Hari said, “People had to wait for 45 minutes to 3 hours in some booths in Visakhapatnam and other parts of the State and he (Jagan) appreciates the Chief Electoral Officer for the arrangements and smooth conduct of the polls. At least now Mr. Jagan should speak the truth.”

According to him, Mr. Naidu has the capacity to stop the Modi juggernaut and said that BJP will perform badly in the southern States.

Appreciating Mr. Naidu for his initiatives, Mr. Hari, who was the former Mayor of Visakhapatnam, said, “Though there has been a criticism that the projected new industries in the State, has not come up as desired, what is important is that there has been a progress and the State has moved ahead and not backward.”

He said that Mr. Naidu was able to take the State forward and achieve progress in a number of major projects such as Polavaram and Amaravati capital city, despite the non-cooperation from the Centre. “The BJP-led NDA government has not given the required funds and at the same time created hindrances and stumbling blocks for the projects,” he said.
