BHOPAL: State capital turned blue people from all walks of life participated in the celebrations of 128th Birth Anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. BR Ambedkar on Sunday. Even the day temperature of 42 degree Celsius did not dampen the spirit of people on the occasion. Despite the scorching heat and heat wave like condition people and children, donning blue caps and scarves, in droves participated in various cultural programmes with enthusiasm.
Heavy police forces were deployed for security and to ensure smooth flow of traffic on all the four roads at Board Office Square. Main function was held at Board Office Square where statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar has been installed. Congress candidate from Bhopal Digvijaya Singh, ex-union minister Suresh Pachori, corporator Guddu Chauhan, ex-chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP district president Vikash Virani, RSS leaders and others offered floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
The politicians flocked to Board Office Square and garlanded the statues and showcased their solidarity with the philosophy of Dr Ambedkar and commitment to serve the under privileged class of the society.
Various cultural programme were organised to mark the occasion. Children presented dance and songs eulogizing Dr Ambedkar’s ideology for social engineering and earned huge adulation and applaud from all corners. Buddhabhoomi Dharmadoot Sangha installed its pandal and organised an all religion meet on this occasion. Sangh’s Bhante said, “Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, fondly called as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an economist, educationist, politician, social reformer and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He fought all his life against discrimination, degradation, and deprivation in Indian society. We have to follow his work and ideas in letter and spirit.”
Politicians like Sanjeev Saxena, law minister PC Sharma, ex-mayor Vibha Patel, religious and spiritual leaders like Fr Anand Mutungal, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind national general secretary Mohammed Darun, Sikh Samaj’s Dalip Singh, The Buddhabhoomi Dharmadoot Sangha’s Bhante and others were present along with BK Batham, IAS, PHE E-N-C Chetanya Sankule. On the occasion spiritual leaders, politicians and distinguished guests were felicitated with mementos on dais.
