The crime branch, on Saturday, arrested three accused from the Sardarbaug area and recovered 10kg worth of Kashmiri Charas which has a market value of Rs10 lakh.
The accused was identified as Kashmir residents Zamil Ahmed Gulam (31) and Shabir Ahmed Dar (27), Dariyapur resident Harsh Shah(36). As per police officials, they got specific information from their source that two Kashmiri youth have come to Ahmedabad to do a Drug deal with a local dealer and the meeting is going to happen in Sardarbaug area. Acting on the information a team of Crime branch put a watch in the area.
When Crime branch officials reached the spot, they came to know a team of Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) officials were also present at the spot and they were also waiting for the same accused.
In a joint operation with NCB, the three accused were arrested from the spot with the 10kg Charas. The Charas was worth Rs10 lakh which was seized from the accused, apart from that three mobiles, cash, two bags were also seized from the accused from the spot.
During the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that from the past one and half year Harsh Shah has been dealing with drugs in Ahmedabad. He used to get Charas from Kashmir and used to sell them in Ahmedabad. During his visit to Kashmir, he came in contact with the two Kashmir youth and they agreed to deliver a consignment to him.
As per crime branch officials, the two Kashmiri got the Charas from a dealer in Kashmir and they reached Ajmer in a private car. From Ajmer, they took a luxury bus and reached Ahmedabad to deliver the consignment to Shah.
