In our top story this morning-- a man has been arrested and is in the hospital recovering after a crash overnight in eugene.

Police say the man crashed..and then stole the car of a good samaratin who was just trying to help him.

Take a look - this is video from the scene on washington street, near lorane highway.

Around 11 pm police say the man was driving westbound on lorane highway when he crashed into a fence and trailer.

A woman who saw the crash then tried to help... but police say the man accosted her and then stole her car..

Only for him to crash two blocks later.

Police say the woman was not hurt.

They say the man was taken to the hospital but is expected to recover.
