Heartbreaking photos have been revealed showing a white boxer looking 'sad and scared' after it was found chained to a lamppost at the side of the road.
The animal looked forlorn as it hung its head having been left to fend for itself on the streets of Hull.
Local resident Graham Dobson, 43, found the dog looking 'looking sad and scared' and was told it had been sitting on its own for more than an hour.
The boxer is now in the care of Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire Boxer Rescue who have named him Max and are looking for a permanent home.

Mr Dobson told the Hull Daily Mail: 'It was heartbreaking to see he had been left and how upset he was, as he was a real nice dog and so friendly, just really scared.
'I came to work in the morning and found the dog tied up on the main road looking sad and scared.
'I got told by other people that he’d been tied up for more than an hour, and I fed and watered him as he’d been left with nothing and then called the dog warden to pick him up.'
Mr Dobson said he could not fathom how someone could be so callous, leaving the pup to wonder when his owner would be coming back.
Mr Dobson - who said he loved animals - said he hoped the authorities would be able to find the boxer a loving home.
The photo of the boxer with its head bowed as it sat on the pavement attracted an outpouring of sympathy online.
Tina Marshall wrote on Facebook: 'Having an animal in your family is a short lived honour and privilege - some people will never understand that! - they don’t deserve the unconditional love, joy and companionship these beautiful dogs bring!'
While Samantha Jane Mackie commented: 'This makes me sick. How could the owner do this and then walk away. Absolutely heart breaking. Hope he is ok.'
Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire Boxer Rescue told the Hull Daily Mail Max will be assessed before they look to send him to a new home.
