IAF flags off run to mark centenary of Marshal Arjan Singh

Sunday organised a half marathon here to commemorate accomplishments and mark the centenary celebrations of its late Singh.

Air Commodore Satish Menon, the college commandant, read out the message given by of the Air Staff to the runners, air warriors and families and flagged off the marathon, an official release said.

Menon spoke on the life and accomplishments of the - which included receiving the distinguished flying cross (DFC) in 1944 for his leadership in Burma campaign during World War-II and award for distinguished service during the Indo-war of 1965.

The college has the honour of hosting the Marshal in every rank from to Air Marshal with the last visit on June 6, 1969, when he visited this college on his farewell as of the Air Staff.

Menon and Jayashree Menon, the of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association (local), gave away prizes and certificates to the best performing participants, the release said.
