Salem Lok Sabha constituency: Lok Sabha election in Salem will be held in the second phase of General election on April 18. Polling in all 39 parliamentary constituencies in Tamil Nadu will be held in the second phase. In 2019, the key contest here is going to be among AIADMK's KR Saravanan, BSP's M Sadaiyan and DMK's SR Parthiban.

Tamil Nadu has a total of 39 parliamentary constituencies where 7 of them including Sriperumbudur, Chidambaram, Rasipuram, Pollachi, Perambalur, Tenkasi, and Nagapattinam have been reserved for candidates representing scheduled caste community. 2014: PR Sundaram (M) of the AIADMK secured 563272 votes and defeated S Gandhiselvan (M) of the DMK who secured 268898 votes.
2009: S Gandhiselvan (M) of the DMK secured 371476 votes. He defeated V Tamilarasi (M) of the ADMK who got 269045 votes.
