The district police and the CRPF personnel are keeping a strict vigil at Veerapuram village, where clashes were witnessed between the YSRCP and TDP workers on the polling day on April 11 that led to the death of a TDP sympathiser and injuries to three followers of the opposition party.
Superintendent of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar reviewed the law and Order situation at Veerapuram late on Friday.
On Saturday, additional forces were deployed in Tadipatri town and at a few villages under Raptadu Assembly constituency, where sporadic incidents of violence were reported on the polling day.

Mr. Ashok Kumar said the police had to open fire at two places on the polling day to bring the situation under control.
“There have been no untoward incidents in the last two days. In all, 15 cases have been registered in the district. A few persons have also been arrested,” the SP said.
The security forces are keeping a tab on the followers of YSRCP candidate K. Pedda Reddy at Tadipatri.
Meanwhile, YSRCP Hindupur Lok Sabha constituency candidate Gorantla Madhav, who had worked as Circle Inspector earlier, visited the three injured party sympathisers undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the city .
