Visakhapatnam district recorded a polling percentage 71.84 in Thursday’s general election. Of the total electorate of 35,78,458, 25,7,0830 voted, according to the final officials statistics released on Friday. Of them, 12,70,588 are men, 13,00227 women and 16 third gender.
S. Kota that is part of Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency but located in Vizianagaram district recorded a polling of 85.69 %. The Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha recorded a polling percentage of 67.26. For Anakapalle Lok Sabha it was 81 %.
With 84.49 %, Elamanchili Assembly constituency topped the polling percentage in the district. It was closely followed by Chodavaram with 84.26 % and Madugula 83.67.
