Punjab and Haryana high court grants bail to dera functionaries

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday granted bail to some key functionaries of Dera Sacha Sauda, who are allegedly involved in spreading violence in Panchkula to free sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh from the court complex after his conviction in rape cases in August 2017.
The accused who have been granted bail include Pawan Kumar Bansal, Chamkaur Singh, Surinder Dhiman, Rakam Singh and Rakesh, who was personal assistant of the dera chief.
All of them have been granted bail in connection to FIR number 345 registered on August 27, 2017 for various charges including waging war against the state. All of them has been granted bail on furnishing the bail bond of Rs 5 lakh.
