Kanpur: The city recorded the season’s hottest day on Saturday with temperature touching 41 degrees Celsius, which was around three degrees more than normal.
As the people felt harshness in the weather in the afternoon, they were seen covering themselves to prevent heat stroke. The sun shone brightly, and for the first time, hot winds blew across the city.

People who were out in the open were a troubled lot. They covered their faces with towels, handkerchiefs while others covered their heads with caps.

The Met department of CSA University has predicted light rains between on April 17 and April 18 which would bring down the day temperature.

But for next few days, the day temperature is likely to hover around 40-41 degrees Celsius which would give tough time to the people.

Hot winds would blow and there are chances of dust storm setting in, the Met office stated.

The season’s hottest night was on April 10 when the temperature reached 24.6 degrees. But on Saturday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.8 degrees.

On Friday, the day temperature was recorded at 39 degrees while the minimum temperature was 22.6 degrees Celsius.
