A Victorian man has caused chaos in Brisbane after he allegedly climbed the 100-metre-high, heritage-listed Storey Bridge to take a selfie.

The 30-year-old Bonbeach man scaled the steel traffic bridge, which spans the Brisbane River in the centre of the city, about 4am on Saturday, police say.

He was charged with unregulated high-risk activities, public nuisance and obstructing police. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 26.
