Moderate rainfall likely on Mon, Tue
Ludhiana: Residents had to witness very warm conditions during the night, as the temperature remained more than five degrees above normal, even as the day temperature remained below 35 degrees Celsius in Ludhiana. The good news for residents is that the meteorological department predicts light to moderate rainfall in the city from Monday.

Even as the sun shone brightly during most of the day on Friday, dark clouds did appear in the city’s sky in the morning, with a mild breeze blowing. However, it did not have much impact on the maximum temperature, which was recorded at 34.2C (normal), but the minimum was on the higher side at 22.7C (a whopping 6 degrees above normal).

Amid the unusually warm weather, the Met department’s prediction is sure to cheer up residents. “Around April 15, a western disturbance is expected to reach the city and bring light to moderate rainfall on that day and the next day, which can go up to 30mm, bringing down both day and night temperatures,” said Chandigarh Met department Director Surender Paul.

The department website predicts a rise in day temperature to 38 degrees until April 15, followed by a fall to 33 degrees by April 17, while night temperature might increase to 25 degrees, and fall to 22 degrees on the same dates.
