Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has convened the extended meeting of the executive body of the party here on Monday to discuss preparations for elections to Zilla and Mandal Parishads shortly.
Apart from executive members, the meeting will be attended by ministers, MLAs, MLCs, leaders who contested in recent Parliament elections, ex-MLAs and chairmen of various corporations.
On the other hand, TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday held a meeting with the party general secretaries where he expressed confidence that the TRS will win the chairmanship of all the 32 zilla parishads in the State. The TRS will also win in 530-odd mandal parishads.
Winning streak
Mr. Rao said the coming elections will further demoralise leaders of Congress and other rival parties. He expected people to give the mandate to TRS as the intensive campaign taken up by the party in Parliament elections recently was fresh in the minds of people.
Since the State government has already conveyed its willingness to conduct elections, Mr. Rao expected the State Election Commission to issue a formal notification in a week or 10 days. He discussed with the leaders district-wise political situation.
