5 hurt in stone-pelting during Ram Navami procession in Ramgarh
Ramgarh: About five people, including circle officer of Dulmi, Kiran Soren, and an assistant sub-inspector of Rajrappa police station, Arun Singh, sustained injuries when two groups of people resorted to stone-pelting at the Ram Navami procession in Sikni village under Dulmi block on Saturday evening. All injured have been admitted to the sadar hospital and are said to be out of danger.

While the exact cause of the incident couldn’t be ascertained till the time of filing this report, unconfirmed reports said one group of people pelted stones from atop a house when the procession was passing through Sikni village. The other party, too, retailed resulting in a flare-up. However, timely action by police brought the situation under control.

Ramgarh SP Nidhi Dwivedi said the situation is under control. She added, “We have deployed security forces in the village to maintain law and order.”
