CHANDIGARH: In a bid to expose the “lies” of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), the Chandigarh Congress is putting together a 10-point agenda, highlighting BJP’s failures in the city in the last five years that are directly affecting the residents of the City Beautiful.

This was discussed at a meeting on Friday called by Congress parliamentary candidate Pawan Kumar Bansal and party president Pradeep Chhabra. Bansal and Chhabra met with block presidents, office bearers and senior leaders and discussed further campaign strategies and its execution.

“The party has decided to do aggressive door-to-door campaign throughout the city. We want to take it to the citizens the failures of BJP then. The party will print pamphlets and posters of the 10-point agenda, prompting people to remember the promises made, but dishonoured,” said a senior party leader of the Congress.

The list include failure to implement need-based changes, to bring additional water supply, to provide jobs for the youth of the city, to increase commercial property tax, slip in Swachh ranking, collapse of smart parking system and water cess.

Chandigarh Congress is also planning to highlight issues related to the BJP-run municipal corporation (MC). “For instance, parking is a major issue in the city and we have been taking feedback from resident welfare associations and market welfare associations of the city. We will highlight such problems, reminding the public that they are being shortchanged by this government,” sources in the Congress.
