Ranchi: RJD’s Chatra candidate Subhash Yadav met incarcerated party president Lalu Prasad at Rims on Saturday. Subhash said Lalu has asked him to put up a strong fight in the elections strongly and campaign on the basis of the party’s ideologies of social harmony and equality.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Subhash said, “Congress has sent a wrong signal to the mahagathbandhan supporters by fielding candidate from Chatra. Both Congress and BJP nominees will face the same fate in the elections.” He added that both Chatra and Palamu were traditional seats of RJD and Congress should have honoured the ground reality.
Subhash said if the mahagathbandhan partners end up fighting with each other in the parliamentary elections, RJD will prepare to field its candidates from for all 81 seats in the Jharkhand assembly elections scheduled to be held at the end of the year.
Though the deadline for withdrawal of nominations for the Chatra seat has elapsed, Yadav said RJD would extend support to Furkan Ansari and not mahagathbandhan’s Pradeep Yadav if the former chose to fight the election from Godda.
