TIRUPUR: DMK has lodged a complaint with Tirupur city police against Hindu Munnani, which is allegedly using minors to circulate posters against DMK and Left parties.
A group of teens pasted a poster in front of Tirupur north district secretary K Selvaraj's house, DMK sources said. “On Sunday morning, we found a poster, which said that DMK and Communist party workers should not visit houses to seek votes. We immediately removed it. The miscreants have also pasted similar posters in neighbouring houses. On Thursday, we verified CCTV footage and found a group of five teens sticking the poster,” said Selvaraj.
“Hindu Munnani has brainwashed minors and is making them involve in illegal activities. AIADMK-BJP alliance is afraid that DMK-CPI alliance will win in Tirupur constituency. So, they are involving in cowardly acts. But it would only encourage DMK cadres work harder to help CPI candidate K Subbarayan to win in big margin,” Selvaraj said. “The miscreants had pasted similar posters at Pattukottaiyar Nagar and residents there placed hoardings to counter those posters urging AIADMK-BJP alliance not to visit their houses.”
A senior election official said they did not receive any complaint about the issue.
