Noida: The court of the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) has ordered that a murder accused, who has been absconding, appear in the court by April 16, failing which the police will start sealing his property.
A resident of Mamura, Pratap had allegedly killed a 19-year-old youth Kapil on August 18, 2018, after an argument ensued between them.
Police said that Pratap was also involved in the illegal sale of liquor which was made in Haryana. While the Phase 3 police had nabbed two other people involved in the alle-ged murder, they failed to arrest Pratap.
Kapil’s relatives had told police that an argument had ensued between Kapil and Pratap on the morning of August 18. Later, around 1pm, two of Pratap’s accomplices Amit and Rubina had taken Kapil to their rented accommodation in Mamura where Pratap arrived later. He then stabbed Kapil with a knife.
Amit and Rubina were arrested soon after the alleged murder and a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against Pratap. “On March 16, the CJM had issued a direction for Pratap to appear before the court within a month. After April 16, the police will start sealing his property,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, the SHO of Phase 3 police station.
