ABT’s 345 HP Cupra Ateca Put To The Test – How Quick Is It?

With its MQB underpinnings, tuned chassis, sporty body kit and punchy engine, the stock Cupra Ateca is already an attractive proposition straight out of the box. This one, however, promises even more.

Having been tuned by ABT, its 2.0-liter four-pot now produces 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. The 50 PS (49 hp / 37 kW) and 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) increase over the stock Cupra Ateca has cut its 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time by 0.2 seconds and increased its top speed by 8 km/h (5 mph), to 5.0 seconds and 255 km/h (158 mph), respectively.

ABT’s offering also includes a set of springs that lower ride height. Elsewhere, the seven-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system have remained untouched. For an increased visual effect, the tuner can equip the sporty SUV with a set of 20-inch alloy wheels which, somehow, manage to not look oversized, but rather stylish for what is essentially an urban vehicle.
